Data Analytics can Transform Bangladeshi Organizations

eGeneration Ltd., one of the leading IT and tech investment companies in Bangladesh and Microsoft jointly organized a roundtable titled “Digital First- Modern Workplace: Engaged Customers, Empowered Employees and Optimized Operations” on Sunday evening at The Westin Dhaka to lead the discussion and embrace strategies around generating workplace insights using data, powerful metrics and analytical tools, driving productivity, increasing employee engagement and streamlining processes. Managing Directors, Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) and Head of ITs from various sectors attended the program.

Shameem Ahsan, Chairman of eGeneration moderated the discussion session and Afif Mohamed Ali, Managing Director of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam & Nepal delivered the opening speech. Sayem Ahmed, Chairman, Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd.; and Mominul Islam, Managing Director, IPDC Finance Ltd. were present as Special Guest. Brigadier General Saleem Ahmed Khan, Director, IT Directorate, Bangladesh Army and SM Ashraful Islam, Executive Vice Chairman, eGeneration, Taher Ahmed Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director, Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd.; Omar Farooq Khandaker, Chief Information Technology Officer, Sonali Bank; Md. Muinul Islam, CTO, Lanka Bangla Securities; Shyamol B. Das, Chief Digital Officer, Brac Bank Ltd also spoke at the roundtable among others.

Shameem Ahsan said, “Data is regarded as the new oil in all major digital economies and the ability to turn data into insights will be critical for both public and private Bangladeshi organizations to thrive in the future. A vast amount of data is generated from everyday work in organizations that can be used to identify patterns that impact productivity, workforce effectiveness, and employee engagement. Globally, companies that have already realized its potential and adopted it are reaping big profits. It is time that Bangladeshi organizations make proper utilization of data and make speed transformation using new insights about the way their teams work.”

Afif Mohamed Ali, Managing Director of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam & Nepal said, “In this era of 4th industrial revolution, Security is on top of every CxO’s mind. Organizations and institutions are starting to adopt cloud, not just for efficiency and cost savings but also to achieve strategic business objectives and to enhance levels of security and privacy compared with existing on-premises solutions. Gartner named Microsoft a Leader in 2019 Endpoint Protection Platforms and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) Magic Quadrant. As we continue to build powerful, new capabilities for our offerings, we’re leveraging the unique ability to natively integrate with other best-in-class solutions from Microsoft’s Security and Identity portfolio that allows us to deliver unique capabilities, providing Bangladeshi customers with fully integrated solutions across their portfolio”.

Studies show 66% of Global 2000 CEOs already have digital transformation at the heart of their corporate strategy with the aim of spurring new growth. In the next several years, more than 50% of the workforce will be made up of millennials, championing more open collaborative workspaces, a greater sense of purpose, and a deeper connection to their company’s mission. And by 2020, experts estimate that the total amount of digital data created will mushroom to 44 zettabytes, a 10-fold increase from just 2013.

Along with Microsoft, eGeneration is working towards enabling local organizations, both public and private, to have the opportunity to take advantage of the era of intelligent cloud and intelligent edge. As the only Bangladeshi LSP of Microsoft, eGeneration has been working closely with the Government, Microsoft and other partners to help accelerate the digital transformation across Bangladesh by bringing people, data, and processes together to reinvent business values, provide personalized experience to employees and customers, and optimize business process. The global systems integrator company has expert team supporting cutting-edge capabilities and disruptive technologies, like blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, Internet of Things (IoT) and more, to not just modernize specific tools and functions, but advance organizations overall.
