Daraz Nandini Arranges Special Campaign “Online Gorur Haat”

87 Organic cows have been brought for this exclusive online haat in association with ActionAid
Dhaka, 30th July 2019: The largest e-commerce platform of the country Daraz has organized
“Online Gorur Haat” campaign for the second time. The specialty of this Online Gorur Haat is
that every cow here is 100% organic and all the cows have been specially raised by the women
entrepreneurs of Gaibandha Sundarganj. This project has been exclusively launched by Daraz
Nandini in association with ActionAid and the cows are being brought to Dhaka from the remote
areas of Gaibandha. Customers can easily find detailed information regarding the sacrificial
cows by watching videos before ordering from the app. The price of the 87 sacrificial cows
found on the app ranges from 42,080 BDT to the highest being worth 1,59,500 BDT. Along with
the reasonable price, buyers can avail discount vouchers and extra discount on pre-payment by
specific bank cards.

Under the supervision of ActionAid, as part of their “MMWW” project, these local and cross-
breed cows have been reared in a completely natural way by the female entrepreneurs of
Gaibandha Sundarganj. No forms of harmful hormones or steroids have been used in the food
provided to the cows. The food provided is completely organic and homemade which includes
grass, straws, cow feed etc. The last date of order is 5th August and the delivery will start from
9th August.
On this occasion, Md. Khairuzzaman, Deputy manager – Market Development of Action Aid
says “The cows are reared by capable women entrepreneurs and the close supervision of project
staff to comply with safe food regulations. As per our records, farmers have not used any
harmful ingredients to rear the cows”.

On the other hand, Shayantani Twisha the Project Lead of Nandini says “One of the primary
objectives of Nandini project is to source products and livestock from women entrepreneurs and
deliver them to the customers of the whole country. To keep this objective in mind, ‘Online
Gorur Haat’ campaign has been organized this year. Even though this time only the Dhaka city
dwellers will be benefited from this campaign, depending on the success, we would like to
extend this facility nationwide”.
