Cloud camps Conference at Digital World

The 4th Cloud Camp Conference held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Wednesday as part of ongoing Digital World.

Cloud Camp is a conference where the early adopters of Cloud computing technologies exchange ideas. With the rapid changes in the industry, Cloud camp works as a meeting place where everyone can exchange ideas, experiences and challenges. There were several open discussions, striving for the advancement of cloud technologies in Bangladesh.

Cloud Camp.org Co-founder Dave Neilson started his session with a presentation on introduction of cloud computing and opportunities.

“Cloud is very buzz word at this moment for the concept of Big Data. Most of the technology organizations are looking for providing cloud service. There are for characteristics of cloud computing give uniqueness for it. These are – on demand availability, selif service, scalable and measurable,”

The idea of Cloud first came from technology icon Steve Jobs. In 1997, he first introduced cloud computing for his Apple Inc.

“It’s me first time in Bangladesh. I can say about the people that they are very potential. There are very opportunities for them. The developing, countries like Bangladesh can go forward with cloud computing. According a tech report, the global market of cloud computing goes 114 billion dollar by 2016. So the IT professionals of the country can get engaged with international cloud services”

The arrangement here is very impressive. We have community here is Cloud Camp Bangladesh. Besides, Cloud Camp is very interested to work with BASIS in term of development of software and ICT training,” Neilson added.

. At the session speakers discussed about the open source technologies for Cloud Computing, namely open Stack and Cloud Foundry. In addition, we will discuss about cloud architecture for Government of Bangladesh and operational aspect.

Distinguished guests were a2i Project Director Kabir Bin Anwar,Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director SM Ashraful Islam and guest speakers Kevin Jackson, Dave Nielsen spoke at the conference while Cloud Camp Bangladesh Convenor Mohammad Zaman moderated the all sessions.
