It was a gleeful day for Ruku, Munni, Asma, Rajib, Ankhi and others from Mirpur branch of the underprivileged children’s school Obhizatrik. These children along with their friends came to the book fair on 13th February and received new books from bKash.

bKash handed over the books to these students at the book collection booth of bKash. Through Obhizatrik Foundation, bKash will provide 5,000 books to various institutions including underprivileged children’s schools, primary schools, libraries and old-age homes.

Readers who come to the fair can also participate in this book giving program. Anyone can donate new or old books at the book collection booth.

Mir Nawbut Ali, Chief Marketing Officer of bKash said, “There is no alternative to reading books for enlightening the mind. It is more important for children to build a future by reading books. We will be able to provide more books to the readers of different ages including underprivileged children, if we can collect a good number of books from people visiting the fair. Besides this program, bKash has been in close collaboration for overall arrangements of the Bangla Academy Book Fair for many years.”

Ahmed Imtiaz Jami, founder of Obhizatrik Foundation said, “The school we run for the underprivileged children does not have a well-equipped library. If the parents buy one book for these underprivileged children besides buying books for their own, it will be a great help. With these books, young minds will be adorned with healthy and creative thinking, which will make their lives happier.”

Besides the book giving program, bKash is offering 10 percent instant cashback to the customers on payment while purchasing books throughout the ‘Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2020’. Any customer can avail maximum cashback of BDT 300 during the campaign period.
