BDApps Launches ‘Project Nisa’ to Empower Madrasa Girls with Technology Skills

In a bid to provide madrasa students access to the world of technology, Robi Axiata Limited’s BDApps platform has introduced ‘Project Nisa’. This initiative aims to empower female madrasa students by enhancing their technological skills and equipping them to become independent innovators in the tech industry.

As part of this project, a workshop was recently held at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Women’s Madrasa in Mongla, Bagerhat. Over 50 students from classes 9 to 12 participated, receiving training in app development, digital literacy, and basic computer skills. This workshop has opened new doors for the students, preparing them to become skilled tech creators.

Following the training, many students have already developed their first light apps on the BDApps platform and have begun earning income. In the first month, 25 participants were able to earn an average of Tk.5,000 each, with their combined earnings exceeding Tk.1 lakh.

Rabeya Khatun, a student from the madrasa, expressed her excitement, saying, “As a madrasa student, I never imagined I would have such an opportunity! Now, I am creating apps and contributing financially to my family—it’s truly a life-changing experience.”

Shihab Ahmed, Chief Commercial Officer of Robi Axiata Limited, said, “’Project Nisa’ is a testament to our commitment to delivering digital skills to every madrasa student in the country. This initiative is empowering women and giving them the opportunity to lead in the world of technology, even from remote areas!
