Bangladesh Post Office has (BPO) introduced a service called Nagad, which will give more freedom to financial transactions with greater control and discipline. Dhaka GPO and Chittagong GPO have already started renovating with this service. BPO is preparing and taking initiatives so that Nagad services could reach the 50% of the unbanked population of Bangladesh. As a result, the workplace of BPO is changing and becoming more innovative.
Nagad will provide immediate and quick financial transactions. BPO’s perception has changed and now they are giving more priority to the customer services of Nagad. The classic building is now adorned with the new decorations of Nagad. This change has also affected the way of working for BPO’s employees. In a nutshell, BPO has been revitalized. Moreover, around 100 employees are receiving special training in Anti Money Laundering or AML-CFT, so they can provide secured financial transactions to customers.
Regarding this, Sushant Kumar Mandal, General Director of the Postal Department said, With the initial introduction of cashless branding, both Dhaka and Chittagong GPOs have started with this service. Around hundred BPO branches will be adorned with Nagad’s decorations and service in the next quarter across the country.”
BPO has 40,000 employees and has been providing trustworthy and reliable services for more than 100 years in Bangladesh. They have experience in delivering documents, parcels, and financial transactions. BPO’s officials believe that with the help of Nagad, the Postal Department will be able to maintain the quality of their services around the country.
