Bangladesh Govt provides ICT training for 113,308 people

Bangladesh government has already imparted trainings to 113,308 people in different terms on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) aiming at creating a large number of skilled human resources to reach the digital services to the doorstep of grassroots people of the country.

A total of 58,824 more people will also be trained up on ICT by 2020, ICT Division officials told BSS ..

According to the ICT Division, 75,000 youths have been given Information Technology (IT) trainings in different periods under the Learning and Earning Development Project across the country.

About 24,525 people were imparted training on online office management (e-filing) while 4,600 officials on National Web Portal and 8,703 teachers of different educational institutions were imparted training on using and protecting the Sheikh Russell Digital Labs from the fiscal 2015-16 to 2017-18, the officials said.

A total of 480 people have been given training on IT by Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centre at old jail in Natore district.

Training programme of master trainer for 1,024 people on nine foreign languages is underway, the ICT division sources said, adding that, after completion of the training, they will provide training to the intending youths to go abroad on foreign languages at district level across the country.

Emphasizing on the women empowerment, the ICT Division has been providing trainings to 10,500 women on Freelancer to Entrepreneur, IT Service Provider and Women Call Centre Agent under the project titled “She Power: Sustainable Development for Women through ICT” at 21 districts across the country since July 2017, the officials added.

Besides, the government has also taken initiatives to create 30,000 skilled human resources for ICT based industries under the projects “leaveraging ICT growth” and “Employment and Governance” to explore the country’s ICT sector.

Moreover, 16,100 people are being given training under the project titled “Skill Development for Mobile Game and Application”.

The government has also taken the “ICT Training and Infrastructure Establishment Program in Recently Abolished Enclaves” programme from July 2018 to June 2020 term. Under the programme, 900 people will be given training on Basic ICT Literacy and 300 people on IT Support Technician.bss.
