ATAS President in Top Achiever’s get together

A get together program has been held by the International organization of achieving highest award in scouting, Association of Top Achiever Scouts (ATAS) Bangladesh. There were about 300 top achievers of Bangladesh Scouts were present at the program.   Today, 3rd May, Friday the get together program was organized at Hotel La Meridian in the capital. A scout and rover scout needs to implement specific programs, being competent and skilled, he or she has to participate in the evaluation up to the national level from the upazila or district level to reach to the top achiever.

The chairman of ATAS Bangladesh and Bangladesh Scouts, Chief Coordinator of SDG of the Prime Minister’s Office Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad has chaired the program. Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan, Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts and the commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission (investigation); Mr. F H Arif, ATAS Bangladesh General Secretary and National Commissioner (Foundation) Bangladesh Scouts and Tax Commissioner (Appeal); Mr. Habibul Alam,Vice President of Bangladesh Scouts and Member of the Asia Pacific Scout Committee; Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Khan, Bir Pratik and International Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts were present at the event.

Simon H Rhee, President of World ATAS said, “I am really honored to be here. We know, Bangladesh Scout is in really good terms with the Global Scouting movement. In 2012, we started ATAS World with small number of members. But now we have grown bigger & every year ATAS members in Scouts are growing. ATAS is an organization which works with the mainstream goals & values of Scout.’’

Abul Kalam Azad, Chief Coordinator of SDG of the Prime Minister’s Office said, “This is a great moment for Bangladesh Scouts as we have Simon H Rhee, World ATAS President amongst us. In ATAS World, President’s Scout Award (PS)” and “President’s Rover Scout Award (PRS)” for Rover Scouts are recognized as members where CUB Scouts are not recognized. My request to the president would be to add CUB scouts in these endeavors as well. My advice to the present Top Achievers is do not stop here as you have to achieve more as a Scout member. I wish all the success to the Top Achievers.”

Dr. Mohammad Mozammel Haque Khan, Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts and the commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission (investigation) Said, “This is a country of 18 lac scouts & I feel proud to see the increasing number of Top Achievers of Bangladesh Scout. These achievements will help to attain bigger goals & responsibilities in future endeavor. As a member of ATAS, you have to be passionate to the values of Scout, try harder to achieve more & work together to achieve bigger goals.”

World Organization of the Scout Movement is conducting scout movement in 170 countries.
The objectives of this movement is to promote universal popular educational youth program to create friendly formation through the physical, mental, intellectual, social and spiritual development of children. In 1907 Baden Powell (BP) has started this movement. Scouting activities are based on BP’s design, ideology, goals, and principles and preferential for everyone regardless of religion, color and race. The highest honor for scouts is “President’s Scout Award (PS)” and “President’s Rover Scout Award (PRS)” for Rover Scouts.
